Subsea Pipelines Engineering

Registration Deadline: 31 March 2025
Subsea Pipeline Engineering

Background

Subsea pipelines have made a tremendous impact to the global oil and gas industry as a safe, reliable and effective hydrocarbons transport system. To date, there have been many examples of subsea pipeline projects where the boundaries of pipeline materials requirements, construction and installation techniques, inspection and maintenance programmes have all been established and much improved upon over many decades.  Similarly, breaching into deeper water depths (1000-3000m) has seen even further improvements and technical innovation in these and other related areas.

This course will provide a comprehensive insight into the above referenced and other parameters but importantly the collective value of these parameters lend themselves to ensuring that ‘getting the design right’ approach is critical for pipeline mechanical and structural integrity over operational life and under the harsh offshore/subsea conditions.

Similarly, the knowledge of potential pipeline failures and failure mechanisms is of equal importance. Recognition of these issues provides a further insight into ensuring that pipelines provide Operators/Owners with a confidence of a ‘Continued-Fit-For-Purpose’ status of their pipelines and a confidence of preserving Operator global reputation.
